A hidden matriarch suffers brutal abuse by her son's girlfriend's family before exposing their greed at an engagement banquet.
Eleanor Ashford, matriarch of the Ashford dynasty, visits Blackwood Estate to inspect the farm run by the family of Vivian, her heir son Adrian's serious girlfriend. A landslide strands Eleanor in a repair pickup, causing the Reeds to mistake her for a laborer. Vivian, intent on securing the Ashford fortune, deliberately crashes into the truck and strikes Eleanor. The Reeds then dunk her and suspend her over a crocodile pit for amusement. Even after Eleanor declares her identity, they refuse to believe her. She escapes and later discovers Vivian has secretly maintained a college boyfriend, David, while pursuing Adrian solely for wealth. At the engagement banquet, Eleanor reveals her true status, the estate abuse, and Vivian's deceit. Vivian publicly denies loving David, not knowing he is present. The engagement is canceled, the estate reclaimed, and the Reeds face consequences.
