A neglected daughter swaps places in a dynastic marriage and discovers unexpected love with the once-comatose groom.
On Manhattan's Upper East Side, Iris Carter endures a father's preference for her scheming half-sister Madison while secretly loving Ryan Vanderbilt, a bodyguard concealing his status as heir to a powerful dynasty. At graduation she learns Ryan courted her only to reach Madison, and he continues enabling Madison's cruelty for years. Desperate to sever the past, Iris volunteers to replace Madison in an arranged union with Liam Archibald, the comatose scion of a rival family. When Liam awakens, the obligation binding them transforms into authentic affection, exposing a long-forgotten connection between their houses. Ryan realizes too late that Iris was the one he truly valued, but she has already moved beyond his reach.
